L’appartement 49C is run by a team of multidisciplinary artists engaged in both creative and curatorial practices.
We platform established and emerging artists to foster open conversations, and provide education and access to collecting, and the art world.
Origin Story
What began as intimate gatherings in a New York apartment has evolved into a digital-first curatorial platform spotlighting established and emerging artists' voices. In 2024, apt49c opened as a salon-style apartment gallery, inviting friends and friends of friends to experience art within domestic settings. Rethinking how contemporary work is shown, collected, and remembered.

We believe art lives best in conversation, with space, viewers, and daily life. Our curatorial practice focuses on emerging and mid-career artists whose work speaks to materiality, emotion, and story. We feature voices that challenge conventions while building a community of intentional art lovers.
What We Do Now
Today, apt49c operates as a digital curatorial platform with physical activations. Our newsletter, "Letters from l'appartement 49c", exists to share artist stories and news from the art world.
We welcome open submissions from artists and writers that would like to contribute to future events and exhibitions or to our newsletter.
